Springtime is upon us! The time of year for new beginnings and to plant the seeds for future harvest. I believe that cultivating our health is a lot like gardening. Just as plants, flowers and crops need healthy soil, PLUS additional plant food nutrients to flourish, our bodies must be "fertilized" by eating well PLUS supplementing with specific nutrients to achieve optimal health.
Most of you reading this, are exactly that type of patient. So with Spring upon us, I hope you are ready to bloom by getting plenty of rest, practicing stress reducing techniques, exercising regularly and taking your supplements. If not, remember we are here to help and that the health of your spine is directly related to your overall health!
As Shakespeare wrote in Othello, "Our bodies are like gardens and our willpower is like the gardener. Depending on what we plant-weeds or lettuce, or one kind of herb rather than a variety, the garden will either be barren and useless, or rich and productive."
Well said Shakespeare! This statement applies not only to what we eat and what supplements we take, but applies to how we think, and how we live as a whole. My favorite patients are those who value optimal health as a lifestyle choice and see their body as an instrument to becoming a 'richer and more productive' person. With this mindset, they engage in proper lifestyle habits and enroll me as their Wellness coach.
Until our next adjustment....
Yours in health,
Dr. Heidi & The InnerMovement Wellness Team
